The first week of November 2024, Glasgow and the surrounding regions are going to sparkle in a series of spectacular fireworks displays. Here is the list of curated events that will light up your Bonfire Night celebrations, whether you are coming in for a visit or you are local.
Date & Time: Tuesday, 5th November 2024; Gates open at 6:00 PM, display starts at 7:15 PM.
Location: GHA Rugby Club, Braidholm Road, Giffnock, G46 6EB.
Information: The biggest and best show on Glasgow’s Southside, this is sure to be a fun-filled evening with food stalls, hot drinks, and pre-show entertainment. Tickets are £10 for adults, £7 for children under 16, and free for under 5s. Family tickets (2 adults and up to 3 children) are £30.
2. Strathclyde Country Park Fireworks Display
Date & Time: Tuesday, 5th November 2024; The fireworks begin at 5:30 PM.
Location: Strathclyde Country Park, Motherwell.
This huge celebration is organized by North and South Lanarkshire Councils, but the fireworks spectacular over Easterhouse Park Lake is stunning, accompanied with a super large bonfire. Big Feed food vendors will serve, and there will also be DJ Elliot Boyce. Parking spots are marked, but expect some controls.
3. Easterhouse Parish Church Fireworks Night
Tue, Nov 5, 2024; 5 pm to 7 pm.
Location: Easterhouse Parish Church, Glasgow.
Information: Family event consisting of fireworks, sparklers, and either a burger or hotdog with a soft drink. Tickets available at £4.50 head.
4. Strathaven Fireworks and Bonfire Night
Date & Time: Saturday, 2nd November 2024.
Location: Strathaven Park, Strathaven.
Information: Community event held by the Strathaven Round Table. There will be a bonfire and fireworks; all money raised will be donated to local causes.
5. Live Action and Fireworks Knockhill
Date & Time: Saturday, 2nd November 2024.
Location: Knockhill Racing Circuit, Dunfermline.
Event Detail: An action-packed afternoon which combines motorsport showpieces with a fantastic display of fireworks.
Safety and Regulations
Glasgow City Council will not arrange any public firework show in 2024. Some areas are declared Firework Control Zones, including Pollokshields and fireworks are prohibited there as a precaution.
Safety Guidelines for Viewers
Arrive early: The earlier you go, the better your chances of securing a good position and also avoid last minute crush.
Dress warm: One might get chilled to bone in the November evenings, so layer on.
Public Transport: One can make use of public transport and avoid the bother of parking.
Guidelines: One should strictly adhere to the guidelines and restrictions that apply to each event, especially regarding banned items such as sparklers or alcohol.
