History & Architecture

Designed by Sir Leslie Martin, the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall was created to celebrate Glasgow's designation as a European City of Culture in 1990. This is an architectural piece that epitomizes the most remarkable modernist design. The internal design boasts marvellous acoustics; the main auditorium-the Main Hall-presents a choice to more than 2,400 guests who can make a membership from either an intimate or grand setting. The building is also home to several other smaller performance locations, each with its own unique charm and purpose.
